As winter schedule came into force in air traffic on 26 October, passengers from Ljubljana airport will be able to fly to 21 destinations on scheduled flights until 28 March next year. These include three new services linking Slovenia's capital with Las Palmas, Manchester and Barcelona. Compared to last winter the number of destinations has increased by five. According to airport manager Fraport Slovenija, the flights will be operated by 18 airlines. The Latvian airline airBaltic, which flies to Ljubljana from Riga, has launched flights to the Spanish island of Gran Canaria, and the British low-cost carrier easyJet will add flights from Manchester to those from London starting from November. From mid-November passengers will also be able to fly from Ljubljana to Barcelona with the Spanish low-cost carrier Vueling. During the winter season Aegean Airlines will fly to Athens two times a week and airBaltic twice a week to Riga and once a week to Las Palmas (Gran Canaria). EasyJet will operate flights to London Gatwick airport seven times a week and to Manchester twice a week. Passengers will also have a choice of three weekly Air Montenegro flights to Podgorica, six weekly Air France flights to Paris, two daily Air Serbia flights to Belgrade and two weekly flights to Niš, as well as four weekly Brussels Airlines flights to Brussels. Flydubai will operate up to daily flights to Dubai, GP Aviation one weekly flight to Prishtina and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines daily flights to Amsterdam. LOT Polish Airlines will fly to Warsaw six times a week, Lufthansa to Frankfurt twice a day, Luxair to Luxembourg two times a week, and Air Dolomiti or Lufthansa to Munich ten times a week. There will also be two daily Swiss Airlines flights to Zurich, daily Turkish Airlines flights to Istanbul, up to three weekly Vueling flights to Barcelona and four weekly Wizz Air flights to Skopje. In addition, there will be a choice of charter flights from Ljubljana this winter. One of those will take passengers to Rovaniemi in Finland, home of Santa Claus. Slovenian travel agencies have also organised flights to Italy (Puglia), Portugal (Porto, Azores, Madeira), Spain (Mallorca, Gran Canaria), Iceland, Turkey, the Netherlands, Malta, Egypt (Hurghada), and Jordan. Ljubljana airport served more than 1.23 million passengers in the first nine months of the year, an increase of 8.6% from the same period in 2024, according to the airport operator. Fraport Slovenija expects the number to top 1.5 million by the end of the year.
