Lizzo turns heads at Vogue World with weight-loss transformation

Lizzo unveiled a noticeably slimmer figure at Vogue World: Hollywood 2025, stepping out in a silver gown as she joined stars at the fashion event. Inside the fashion-meets-performance spectacle, Lizzo was seen chatting with director Baz Luhrmann, while the immersive runway featured dramatic turns from Julia Garner — who channelled Marie Antoinette in a towering powdered wig and ruffled gown — and model Cara Delevingne. Musical performances came from Gracie Abrams, who began a medley from the back of a truck before making her way down the runway, and Doja Cat, who delivered a high-energy set in a custom chainmail look inspired by Tina Turner’s Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome costume. The singer, 37, attended the post-show celebrations at the Château Marmont alongside her comedian partner Myke Wright, with the pair leaving the event hand-in-hand. Speaking earlier this year about her changing appearance, the four-time Grammy winner credited her weight-loss to discipline and lifestyle shifts — though she acknowledged that she had briefly tried Ozempic and other weight-loss injections. “I've tried everything,” she admitted on the Just Trish podcast in June. “It's just the science, for me, calories in vs. calories out. Ozempic works because you eat less food.” Adding: “It makes you feel full. So, if you can just do that on your own and get mind-over-matter, it's the same.” Lizzo previously explained that she had moved away from her previous vegan diet in favour of a more protein-focused approach. “For me, when I actually started eating whole foods and eating beef and chicken and fish, I was actually full,” she said. “I wasn’t expanding my stomach with a lot of fake things that weren’t filling me up.” The singer has spoken openly about body image throughout her career, becoming a vocal figure in conversations around self-acceptance and the pressure placed on women in the public eye. Speaking to Women’s Health UK in August, the singer opened up about how she feels about her body now. She said: “I like how I look now. I still think I’m big. I’m still wearing plus-size clothing. I have the same rolls. I got the same belly, the same thighs – I think I’m just a smaller version. Body positivity has nothing to do with staying the same. Body positivity is the radical act of daring to exist loudly and proudly in a society that told you you shouldn’t exist.” “Me saying I love myself in 2016 was offensive to people… How dare you love yourself! You are fat and black and you’re a woman, so you shouldn’t love yourself… I had to fight for that (to love myself). “And now I’m fighting again… It’s OK to release weight. It’s OK to gain weight after you’ve released weight, because what you’re not going to do is shame me if my body changes again and I get bigger.” She also spoke about her struggles with binge eating, adding that she has now found a “beautiful balance” with food.
