Live updates: Hugh Freeze addresses the media following Auburn’s 0-4 SEC start

Auburn football is coming off its fourth straight conference loss, falling 23-17 to Missouri. The Tigers currently sit at 3-4 overall and remain winless in the SEC. The Tigers will travel to Arkansas this week for its matchup with the Razorbacks who is also winless in the SEC. Here’s everything Auburn coach Hugh Freeze said in Monday’s press conference about Arkansas and the Tigers slow start in the SEC. Freeze starts the presser saying Saturday’s loss to Missouri can’t linger. Freeze says he must demand it on himself and the staff to clean up Auburn’s issues in critical moments. Freeze says his team is not consistent enough against top opponents. Freeze says many positions will be looked at for changes especially at center with Connor Lew out for the season. Say’s Mason Murphy and Kail Ellis will be in the mix for that role. Freeze says Jackson Arnold and Ashton Daniels will continue to get reps at QB this week. Freeze says he has not talked to AD John Cohen since Saturday. However, he says Cohen has supported him throughout the adversity. Freeze says he loves seeing the development of Perry Thompson and talks about how when he first came, he did not know how to practice. Freeze says he still believes in kicker Alex McPherson. Freeze says they have to coach harder on the players on offense. ‘We got to demand more, zero time for excuses.’ Freeze says Kail Ellis is mature for his age and shows incredible toughness. Wants his snaps to tone down a little bit. Freeze says LB Robert Woodyard played his best game against Missouri. Freeze says the expectation is for Jackson Arnold to start Saturday. Freeze says his group took a big step against Missouri. Like the energy he saw from both sides of the ball throughout the game. Auburn Beat Reporter
