LIVE: Traffic chaos near Manchester city centre as breakdown sparks huge queues - latest updates

Motorists are facing huge queues near Manchester city centre following a breakdown.

One lane of traffic has been blocked this morning (September 11) after a vehicle broke down on the A57 Regent Road, in Salford, eastbound between Oldfield Road and Trinity Way.

Commuters have been hit by long delays on several roads around Salford and Manchester as a result.

There are long queues on Regent Road and the M602 heading towards the city centre.

Albion Way, the A6 at Broad Street and Broughton Road, in Salford, are all seeing heavy traffic in the surrounding area.

Oldfield Road, Middlewood Street and Trinity Way are also busier than usual, according to Google traffic data.

Some queues are also tailing back onto the Mancunian Way westbound, from the opposite side of the road.
