Hey all and welcome to another day of our federal politics live blog! It's great to have you join us here. I'm Josh Boscaini joining you live from Parliament House in Canberra, here and ready to bring you all of today's federal politics news. It all went down in the Liberal party room yesterday, with a majority of members voting to ditch to net zero, according to sources. Shadow Energy Minister Dan Tehan says we should find out the Liberal Party's final position on net zero sometime before midday after shadow cabinet meets. The discussion about net zero comes as an International Energy Agency report finds that although transitioning to net zero will require "higher up-front spending", it leads to "a clear decline in total household energy bills in advanced economies". Also, we're expecting to hear from Foreign Minister Penny Wong this morning after Australia and Indonesia signed a landmark security treaty yesterday. Let's get right into the day!
