I'm Josh Boscaini live in Parliament House in Canberra, ready to bring you all of today's federal politics news. If you haven't already heard, the federal government will not include a "climate trigger" in its overhaul of environmental protection laws. The trigger could have been used to block projects that would have worsened carbon emissions. The move to exclude the trigger has been lashed by the Greens, who say they're now unlikely to support the proposed legislation in its current form. Meanwhile, the Australian Defence Force is sending a liaison officer to Israel to help the United States implement President Donald Trump's peace plan in Gaza. Let's get straight into it!
