Lisa McHugh has given a heart-warming update on her health after she was diagnosed with a serious health condition. The country music singer revealed back in July that she has Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), a condition which can cause weakness, movement problems and sensory issues. This caused her to lose function in both of her legs , meaning she had to learn how to walk again using a walking frame. She also experienced severe pain in her face, as well as debilitating headaches. The Scottish singer told fans she would be talking time away from music to focus on her recovery. Now, she has shared a heart-warming video of her and her husband Nathan in their garden playing with their two kids, Milo and Hallie. Lisa can be seen walking and wheeling baby Hallie in a tricycle, while Nathan and Milo play a game of football. “11 weeks ago today everything changed… life since then has been very different, full of uncertainty and in 11 weeks we’ve also faced many hurdles,” Lisa captioned the video on Instagram. “BUT, that makes me even more grateful for these moments with my little team.” Fans showed their support in the comments, with one person saying: “You’re such an inspiration.” “Well done Lisa you have come a long way though this battle we all so proud of you,” added another person. A further fan commented: “Great to see the team as you call [your] family having lovely moments together, so precious. Keep being the strong lady that you are… lots of love.” In a statement back in July, Lisa explained that she received the diagnosis after a scary few weeks. She said: “After what has been an incredibly scary and very difficult couple of weeks in hospital having multiple CT scans, MRIs, X-rays, blood tests, lumbar punctures and every kind of test you could imagine, I have just been diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). “As well as Trigeminal Neuralgia that I was diagnosed with earlier this year. FND is a condition that affects the way the brain and nervous system work, leading to a range of neurological symptoms such as limb weakness, paralysis, seizures, walking difficulties, spasms, sensory issues, cognitive problems and more. “The specific cause for FND is unknown but one of the main triggers is stress, trauma and anxiety. And while there is no cure, it is treatable providing you adapt your life as much as possible to manage it.” For all the latest news, visit the Belfast Live homepage here and sign up to our Be lifestyle newsletter for all the latest showbiz, fashion, beauty, family features and more.
