The restaurant plans to serve a breakfast menu starting at 7 a.m. that will feature omelets, oatmeal and pastries. At 11 a.m., The Guild will offer lunch items that include sandwiches and salads. Dinner and a full bar will be available from 4 p.m. until close, according to city documents.
On Sept. 11, Wheaton’s liquor commission voted unanimously to recommend The Guild’s application for a class A liquor license. Per city documents, The Guild will offer wine, beer and cocktails for purchase during dinner hours.
The 770-square foot restaurant will occupy the building’s second level, with space to seat around 50 customers. In addition to tables, The Guild will have couches and reading chairs, surrounded by bookcases.
The restaurant is co-owned by Eric Schlickman, who founded Dough and the Backyard, which offers Detroit-style pizza, a sports bar and live entertainment at 111 E. Front St.
