Lions International – District 317F on Wednesday (September 17, 2025) launched community service initiatives worth ₹1.2 crore under District Governor Lion Akash A. Suvarna. The projects span healthcare, education, social welfare, and environmental causes.
Key highlights include: Baby feeding and resting rooms for women at three metro stations (₹5 lakh), cloth bag vending machines (₹1.2 lakh), and distribution of 20 laptops and scholarships (₹8 lakh). Healthcare support covers chemotherapy syrups for pediatric cancer patients at Kidwai Hospital, dental screening equipment via KLE Society, cataract surgeries, and seven Lions Sai Swasthya Wellness Centres (₹35 lakh) in collaboration with Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research.
The club has also initiated a 365 Days Relieving Hunger Programme at K.C. General Hospital (₹10 lakh), provided electric auto rickshaws and scooters for self-employment, and contributed ₹50 lakh to Lions Clubs International Foundation.
