Life Certificate: Good news for pensioners! Now they can easily submit their life certificate from home, know the details

Life Certificate is a biometrically enabled digital life certificate for pensioners. It is extremely important for retired employees of the Central Government, State Government, and other government institutions. Life Certificate: There’s good news for millions of pensioners across the country. The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DOPPW) is launching the fourth nationwide Digital Life Certificate (DLC) campaign from November 1 to 30, 2025, in all 1,600 districts and divisional headquarters across the country. This campaign will make it easier for pensioners to submit their life certificates. Face authentication technology will allow seniors to submit their life certificates from the comfort of their homes. Meanwhile, banks and IPPB will launch a comprehensive awareness campaign in October 2025 to inform pensioners about the submission options through SMS, WhatsApp, social media, banners, and local media promotions. Life certificates are required to be submitted annually. Actually, in the last months of the year, especially in the month of November, pensioners have to submit the life certificate, because the life certificate submitted by the pensioners is valid for one year. The life certificate submitted by the pensioners last year is valid only till 30th November 2025, hence to get pension from the month of December, it is necessary that the pensioners submit their life certificate by 30th November. The pensioner who does not submit this certificate by 30th November will stop getting pension from December. However, after the life certificate is submitted, the entire pension amount along with the outstanding amount gets credited to the account. Why is a Life Certificate Important?
