Lewis-Skelly Wanted by Premier League Clubs

Premier League clubs are monitoring Arsenal defender Myles Lewis-Skelly’s situation ahead of the January transfer window, Sky Sports News journalist Rob Dorsett has revealed. The 19-year-old left-back has struggled for regular minutes under Mikel Arteta this term, playing just 87 in the Premier League, and has dropped out of the England picture as a result. Thomas Tuchel omitted Lewis-Skelly from the group to face Serbia and Albania and told the youngster that he needs to be playing more to make himself a candidate for the World Cup squad. Currently a third-choice left-back behind Riccardo Calafiori and Piero Hincapie, Lewis-Skelly is being closely watched by several Premier League clubs ahead of the market reopening, although Arsenal have no desire to sell, having recently tied the 19-year-old to a new five-year contract. Lewis-Skelly Wanted by Premier League Clubs Dorsett, speaking on Sky Sports News, shared an update regarding Lewis-Skelly, claiming the England international is being monitored by Premier League clubs amid his limited involvement at Arsenal: “My understanding is that Thomas Tuchel has told him that he needs to be playing more football if he’s going to be a candidate for that World Cup squad next summer. And at the moment he isn’t playing enough for Arsenal, playing it simple. “And we know that there are a number of Premier League clubs monitoring his situation at Arsenal right now. “Arsenal have no desire to sell.” Lewis-Skelly has made 12 appearances for Arsenal this term, registering three assists in over 450 minutes of game time. The 'elite' 19-year-old has yet to start a Premier League game in 2025/26, with all of his seven cameos coming off the bench. The London-born defender was a regular under Arteta last term, with 15 of his 23 league appearances coming in the starting line-up. As a result, he earned his first call-up to the England squad in March and scored on his debut, a 3-0 win over Albania in the World Cup qualifiers. Lewis-Skelly has won six caps under Tuchel to date and was included in all of his four Three Lions squads before being left out for this international break.
