Lewis Hamilton is developing a TV show concept and 'a couple of animation films ' as he expands his work with his Dawn Apollo Films production company. The seven-time world champion was instrumental in helping to bring the blockbuster F1 film to cinemas. Hamilton's appetite for creative projects beyond his racing career is well-known. The 40 year old has maintained a long-standing interest in music production and is now making his mark in cinema, with the F1 film representing his first major contribution to the industry. The venture proved to be a resounding success. After raking in £479million ($629m) at the global box office, F1: The Movie became the highest-grossing sports film in history, surpassing Pixar's Cars 2 in the process. Discussing the experience with The Ferrari Magazine , he said: "I'm so happy with it... To have real involvement in the film and to be able to engage so fully in the process was crazy. Joe [Kosinski, the film's director] came to me and said, 'I'm thinking about doing this movie, I would love to get Brad Pitt .'". "We didn't have him at that point. And I helped bridge some gaps and be part of it to the point where the end credits roll. I spent time in the edit and watched sections of the film on my laptop and sent notes. I met with Hans Zimmer in his amazing studio in Santa Monica. What a four years it's been, and what a privilege." Hamilton's Dawn Apollo Films company remains active in the film industry following the F1 movie's release, and the Stevenage-born driver has revealed he's already planning his next productions. "We have some ideas," he confessed. "I'm in the process of figuring it out, but storytelling is something I'm really passionate about. More than ever, we need inspirational stories out there, given the dark times we live in. "I love comedy, and I've got a particular idea for a television show. I'm working on a couple of animation movie ideas, and we're getting sent so much stuff since the F1 movie happened, it's crazy. But it's not about doing lots and lots of projects; it's more like Quentin Tarantino does it, quality rather than quantity." During the interview, Hamilton also explained the importance of creativity relative to his on-track exploits. "It’s not a question of distraction," he said. "Everyone can get distracted, one way or another. It’s about how you decide to deploy your energy and create a sense of balance. You’ve got to have a creative balance; you can’t just work every hour of your life because you’ll be miserable. How do you find things that inspire you and keep you uplifted? Tapping into your creativity is one way." On the track, Hamilton continues his search for a maiden F1 podium finish with Ferrari. With four races left in the 2025 season, the Italian team finds itself embroiled in a fierce Constructors' Championship fight with Mercedes and Red Bull , currently holding a slender one-point advantage over their closest competitors.
