Letter: Trump’s wealth shields him from the effects of climate change. We don’t have that luxury.
In President Trump’s recent speech to the U.N., he again claimed that global warming/climate change are a hoax and a “con job.” He doesn’t believe the scientific data showing that as more CO2 accumulates in the atmosphere, more heat is radiated back to Earth.
It’s hard to predict the impact on the livability of our planet as warming increases but I have grandchildren and I don’t want their lives made more difficult due to the obstruction of my government. Trump is very wealthy and he can use his wealth to shield his grandchildren from the potential effects of a warming planet. The odds are that my grandchildren, and yours, won’t have those same shielding resources.
As a conservative person, I believe I should “err” on the side of believing the science and support the proven clean energy technologies that won’t degrade my quality of life and will hopefully leave my grandchildren, and theirs, a livable planet.
