Bangor needs leaders of integrity, collaboration, and heart. That’s why I am proud to support my friend and colleague, Ben Speed, for the Bangor School Committee.
For the past five years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside Ben. He doesn’t seek the spotlight. He quietly steps in, lends a hand, and does what’s right. His integrity is steady, and his commitment to others is genuine.
Ben’s professional journey reflects both creativity and service. He spent 14 years teaching multimedia design, and today he leads videography and communications at Northern Light Health. I believe his background in education, communications, and public service has given him the ability to listen deeply, bring people together, and communicate clearly — skills essential for shaping the future of our schools.
Beyond his career, Ben is deeply engaged in Bangor — volunteering with conservation groups, serving on the Communications Committee of the Unitarian Universalist Society, and raising his family here. As a devoted husband and father, I believe he knows how vital strong schools are for every child and every neighborhood.
Thoughtful, collaborative, and principled. Ben is exactly the kind of leader we need on the school committee! I encourage my fellow Bangor residents to join me in voting for him.
