Letter: Stop the partisan politics and reopen government

The ongoing government shutdown is putting our country in harm’s way by not providing the necessary support to essential federal workers who keep us secure. Call or email our U.S. Senate representatives, Sens. Mazie Hirono and Brian Schatz, ask them to put their partisan views aside, and for the sake of Hawaii and the country, tell them vote to reopen the government now. We deserve better and more mature representation, and that goes for both sides. I pray the federal workforce that is being forced to work without pay remembers their pain at the next election. The next protest should be “No Senators” as we vote them all out. James Roller >> Contact: 529-4831 (phone), letters@staradvertiser.com, staradvertiser.com/editorial/submit-letter
