Donald Trump is leading the country down a very perilous path. His administration is violating all the usual guardrails and is trampling on the Constitution. Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations and the unjustified invasions of some of our major U.S. cities have demonstrated this administration’s wanton disregard of the law and basic decency. Trump is clearly using the presidency to increase his wealth. He has unilaterally destroyed the East Wing of the White House to build a glitzy $300 million ballroom. At the same time, he and the Republicans have shut down the federal government, undermined health care and laid off tens of thousands of vital federal workers. Trump recently ordered the resumption of nuclear weapons testing, and the bombing of boats on the open seas. He also is hostile to safeguarding the environment. We must strongly resist these cruel and harmful policies and restore decency, sanity, democracy and humanity.
