Leggy Chinese dad gains online fame for slender limbs, attracts legwear brands

The long, slender legs of a man from central China have unexpectedly thrust him into the spotlight as he manages his own social media account, attracting collaborations from numerous legging and stocking brands. The 31-year-old, surnamed Xu, hails from Wuhan in Hubei province. Standing 177cm tall and weighing 60kg, he has recently gone viral online for his long, feminine-looking legs, capturing widespread attention. Xu shares videos on Douyin under the username “Xu Moumou,” where he has garnered around 15,000 followers. His content frequently showcases him in short skirts and women’s clothing, flaunting his legs while modelling stylish outfits or dancing. Occasionally, he even sports a wig. The account is co-managed by Xu and his wife, who not only supports his creative endeavours but also admires his legs in everyday life. “I always tell my wife I never imagined I could make a living off my legs,” Xu humorously remarked in an interview with Jiupai News. While some netizens have accused him of using leg-lengthening filters, Xu refutes these claims, insisting that he has never engaged in any specific leg workouts, attributing his leg shape to genetics from his mother. Many followers have reached out for advice on how to improve their leg shape, but Xu candidly admitted, “To be honest, I don’t really know the secret either.” Since childhood, Xu has maintained a slim physique, but he noted that the attention and compliments his legs received from a young age occasionally made him uncomfortable. “In secondary school, when people complimented my legs, I used to think they were mocking me,” he shared. He inadvertently transformed his physical advantage into a career opportunity during a work shoot. While working as a 3D designer at an advertising company, his firm secured a campaign for a tights brand. To minimise costs on hiring a model, his boss asked him to step in as the model himself. To everyone’s surprise, the results were outstanding. His photos turned out remarkably well, and the client did not even realise the legs belonged to a man. When the company later went bankrupt, Xu began caring for his child at home while also managing his social media account. This decision attracted numerous manufacturers of leggings, stockings, and pants, who began reaching out for collaborations. The specifics of his earnings from these partnerships remain undisclosed. Some women’s clothing brands have also sought him out, but he admitted that due to his tall stature and broad upper body, many styles do not suit him well. Regarding his future plans, Xu emphasised that his main focus is on showcasing the clothing itself. With limited time and energy, he has no intention of doing live-streams for added attention. His videos have stirred a mix of envy and amusement among female netizens on Chinese social media. One viewer commented: “Why does a grown man have such beautiful legs? Even my legs aren’t that slim!” Another added: “Not only are his legs long and straight, but he also has a perky butt.” A third remarked: “I was actually inspired to buy that skirt modelled by a man!”
