New grim details have emerged following the tragic death of Limp Bizkit co-founder and bassist Sam Rivers. Rivers died at age 48 on Saturday, Oct. 18. No cause of death was given. However, an incident report obtained by TMZ on Thursday, Oct. 30, claims the famed musician was discovered in the bathroom of his Florida home in a pool of blood. The report, which came from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Department in St. Augustine, noted that a companion named Keely dialed 911 after finding Rivers face down and bleeding. During the call, Keely was reportedly emotional as she attempted to give Rivers CPR while waiting for first responders to arrive. The outlet further suggested that it’s possible Rivers fell from the toilet, which contributed to his pool of blood. Additionally, he was reported to have a cut over his eye, which could have resulted from a fall. Still, the circumstances surrounding his death are unclear and remain under investigation. In 2015, Rivers briefly left the band for health reasons, later admitting to having a history of alcohol-related liver disease. “I got liver disease from excessive drinking … I had to leave Limp Bizkit in 2015 because I felt so horrible, and a few months after that I realized I had to change everything because I had really bad liver disease,” Rivers told Variety. “I quit drinking and did everything the doctors told me. I got treatment for the alcohol and got a liver transplant, which was a perfect match.” Rivers later rejoined the band in 2018 and remained an active member until his death.
