Key Points LeAnn Rimes denied plastic surgery rumors, attributing her look to a push-up bra. 9-1-1: Nashville's showrunner praised Rimes’ audition as “lightning in a bottle” and “amazing.” LeAnn Rimes set the record straight amid speculation that she underwent plastic surgery for her role in 9-1-1: Nashville. While participating in an Instagram Q&A on Sunday, November 9, Rimes, 43, made light of a comment she received that simply read, “boob job.” “If you are referring to my boobs, I can’t believe I am talking about my boobs,” she responded. “But if you are referring to my boobs in some of the videos that I have been posting when it comes to my character in 9-1-1: Nashville, I have the most massive push-up bra of life on.” Rimes then insisted she did not have any cosmetic work done before starring on the show, which premiered on ABC in October. “In fact, when I took off the bra one day, my boobs stayed up by my chin a bit before they fell,” she jokingly said. “So no, I did not get a boob job. Nothing that has not been there already.” 9-1-1: Nashville follows a new set of TV firefighters led by Captain Don Hart (Chris O’Donnell). The show also stars Don’s wife, Blythe (Jessica Capshaw) and their son, Ryan (Michael Provost). During the premiere episode, the family experienced a major surprise when Don revealed that a stripper named Blue (Hunter McVey) was also his son. Blue was conceived following a brief romance with Dixie (Rimes) when he was on a break from Blythe. After Don and Blue reconnected, the lead fight fighter often Blue a spot on his squad so they could get to know each other. One week after the show premiered, showrunner Rashad Raisani revealed how Rimes booked the role of Dixie. “She got involved the old-fashioned way. That part was just written as Dixie, and she auditioned. And I’ll never forget, we got a call from casting right after she auditioned to say, ‘We just saw lightning in a bottle.’ And when I watched that audition, it was so electric, it was so incredible,” Raisani, 44, told Variety in an October 16 interview. While Raisani had “known who LeAnn Rimes is for many years,” he said he “thought she was unrecognizable as Dixie.” Parade Daily🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 “It was just one of those things where even before she spoke, she had the cigarette in her hand, and the way she held it, I was like, ‘Oh, well, that’s it. That’s her,'” he continued. “And so she truly just gave the audition of all time. For me, it was just amazing.” As for how Blue got his name, Raisani said co-creator Ryan Murphy suggested the moniker. He recalled Murphy, 60, saying, “And I think the son should be named Blue, because I think America is ready for a kid named Blue.” After acknowledging that Rimes has a famous song called “Blue,” he continued, “And so that was before we knew LeAnn was involved. And then I said to her, ‘Isn’t this bizarre?’ It’s just kismet.” 9-1-1: Nashville airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC, while episodes are available the next day on Hulu.
