A drunk man wanted to fight with, rather than speak with, the manager of a store he reportedly had shoplifted from earlier. Someone wanting to get into the spirit of Halloween wanted to decorate their truck with gore, such as fake blood, called the Kalispell Police Department inquiring if it would be legal to drive it around that way. A woman allegedly called to complain about an officer pulling her over because she had paper plates in the back window of her vehicle and had additional questions. An officer clarified that the temporary license plate she had taped to the back window was not clearly visible and was told to reposition it during the stop. A man wearing shorts, a black coat with white cuffs and black shoes was allegedly running up and down the hallways of an apartment building, yelling something along the lines of not being worthy and ringing doorbells. Still yelling, he then went outside onto the Parkline Trail. He reportedly told officers he was trying to apologize to someone and would not disturb the peace but rather stand quietly and look at the sky. He declined transportation to the hospital for a mental health evaluation and officers told him he would be subject to arrest for disorderly conduct if the behavior continued. A later call came in from someone who was suspicious of the same man, who was reportedly standing on the bike path, staring at the apartment building. He lay down and got back up again. When officers returned to the scene, they found him standing where they had left him. He said he was “getting exercise” and was OK. A welfare check was requested for a man reportedly slumped over, sitting on a bench. Officers made contact with the man, who was leaning over to watch something on his phone, and was fine. A nurse asked officers to locate a shirtless man who allegedly left with two IVs in his arm to remove them.
