During Financial Literacy Month, Launch Okanagan is hosting an interactive evening, along with a series of free learning opportunities to help residents build financial confidence. For more than 14 years, Launch Okanagan has helped those living in the region with financial knowledge and resources. This November, the organization will host its fourth annual fundraiser, Talk Money. Build Confidence. Launch Change. On Tuesday, Nov. 4, at the Kelowna Community Theatre, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Launch Okanagan will have guest speakers as well as a presentation to highlight the charity’s programs that help individuals with education, empowerment, and financial confidence. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards funding more Launch Okanagan programs, coaching, and community workshops. Tickets are available now at www.launchchange.ca. Space is limited. There will also be free financial literacy workshops that take place every Wednesday starting on Nov. 5 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for the month of November. The sessions are open to everyone and are designed to help participants build financial confidence in practical, everyday ways. The schedule for November is: Nov 5 – Launch my Budget: Learn how to create a realistic budget and reach your goals; Nov 12 – Dealing with Debt: Explore strategies to manage, reduce, and prevent debt while protecting your financial well-being. Nov 19 – RDSP Essentials: Understand the benefits of a Registered Disability Savings Plan and how it supports long-term security for individuals with disabilities. Nov 26 – RESP Essentials: Learn how to talk to your kids about saving and discover how a Registered Education Savings Plan can help access government grants.
