Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has instructed the officials to launch the ‘Naipunyam’ portal, which is meant to impart skills to the youth and show them job opportunities, during the upcoming CII Partnership Summit-2025. Mr. Naidu has also directed them to conduct Job Melas in all the constituencies every month from now on. Addressing a review meeting on skill development, at the Secretariat on Thursday, Mr. Naidu said the government was not only committed to equipping the youth with skills but also supporting them in pursuit of higher education. He emphasised that the officials should work towards realising the government’s goal of creating 20 lakh jobs by 2029, and told them to issue certificates to those who complete the skill development training. Thrust areas IT & HRD Minister N. Lokesh informed the Chief Minister that a cluster-based approach was adopted to enhance skills, and that action plans were prepared for imparting training in the sectors such as space, aquaculture, and quantum technologies in tune with the emerging industry needs. Mr. Lokesh explained that the department sought to implement the best practices that he had studied during his recent tour to Australia. The Chief Minister directed the officials to collaborate with the national and international institutions for skill enhancement and suggested that the ‘Naipunyam’ portal be designed in such a way it would help the unemployed youth who had not benefited from any government scheme in gainful employment. Officials told the Chief Minister that 1,44,000 people had secured employment through job fairs held so far across the State and that the portal was designed to use AI in order to help the candidates create resumes and provide job updates regularly via WhatsApp. The Chief Minister wanted industries and educational institutions to be linked through the portal, and said awareness should be created among colleges on industry trends, and the system should allow tracking of placements. ‘Encourage innovations’ Innovations at the school level should be enhanced through a tie-up with the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub (RTIH), Mr. Naidu said, adding that training in foreign languages should be provided to enable the youth tap opportunities overseas.
