Last-minute goal sends Hinsdale boys soccer to quarterfinals

Hinsdale’s Hunter Taylor scored the go-ahead goal in stoppage time, advancing the Hinsdale boys soccer team to the NHIAA Division IV quarterfinals with a 3-2 first-round win over No. 13 Colebrook on Tuesday at Hinsdale High School. The Pacers (13-3-1), the tournament’s No. 4 seed, will host No. 5 Woodsville on Friday at 3 p.m. with a trip to the semifinals on the line. Taylor scored twice and notched an assist for the Pacers in the win. Taylor put the hosts on the board nine minutes in to open the scoring. After a Colebrook equalizer midway through the first half, Elijah Colon scored off a feed from Taylor to give Hinsdale a 2-1 lead at the break. Colebrook drew even with eight minutes remaining, setting the stage for Taylor’s dramatic winning tally. Woodsville (12-4-1) earned a 7-2 win over Lisbon in first-round action. Hinsdale and Woodsville did not face each other in the regular season.
