In the 2025 NFL Draft, the Las Vegas Raiders drafted cornerback Darien Porter, who fits the Pete Carroll CB mold perfectly. However, he hasn't played much and at the moment the Raiders' best CB is Eric Stokes. That's not a good thing.The secondary is the reason a lot of these broken plays happen. The defensive line usually does a solid job, nothing amazing, nothing terrible, but the secondary has struggled in holding up their end of the bargain. I get the feeling this new regime would want to attack the CB spot in the 2026 NFL Draft.So, let's dive into just a few of the guys that would be good fits for the Raiders. Now, it's only October, so a lot can change between now and then. And, we know that with everything this team needs in the 2026 NFL Draft, there is a big question of where they will even target a CB in the draft. Raiders' best fits at CB in the 2026 NFL Draft Raiders’ 2025 NFL Draft class Round 1, Pick 6: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State Round 2, Pick 58: Jack Bech, WR, TCU Round 3, Pick 68: Darien Porter, CB, Iowa State Round 3, Pick 98: Caleb Rogers, G, Texas Tech Round 3, Pick 99: Charles Grant, DE, William & Mary Round 4, Pick 108: Dont’e Thornton Jr., WR, Tennessee Round 4, Pick 135: Tonka Hemingway, DT, South Carolina Round 6, Pick 180: JJ Pegues, DT, Ole Miss Round 6, Pick 213: Tommy Mellott, QB, Montana State Round 6, Pick 215: Cam Miller, QB, North Dakota State Round 7, Pick 222: Cody Lindenberg, LB, Minnesota Daylen Everette, Georgia Everette fits the Pete Carroll mold a bit, in that he has great length and size for the position, and is super fast. Everette is 6'1", with decently sized arms, and runs around a 4.34 forty yard dash. It's. One thing to have the length, but it's another thing to use it. Everette is really good at getting his hands into receivers while going up and contesting catches. He plays the catch very well with his length, but isn't too hands and aggressive where he gets penalized a ton. Everette will also have the ability to play in multiple different coverages without being a liability, and the IQ potential is extremely big. Tacario Davis, Washington Tacario Davis had a stellar season for Arizona in 2023, but had a been of a down campaign during his final season. He chose to reunite with head coach Jedd Fisch at Washington this season and has been much more consistent. At around 6-3 and 200 pounds, Davis is extremely long and has a lot better movement skills than you might anticipate. - Ryan Roberts, A to Z Sports NFL Draft Kelley Jones, Mississippi State Jones is a cornerback prospect teeming with tools and physical traits. The Mississippi State cornerback has blossomed this season in a CB1 role, but there is a chance he returns to school for next season. Although a CB listed at 6’4 & 195 pounds who can play inside and outside won’t be a player that’s easy to keep in the college ranks longer than necessary. Jones has a clear NFL future due to his potential. That potential has shown up often this season for the Bulldogs' secondary, though. Early in the season, Jones smothered Arizona State star WR Jordyn Tyson in coverage and showed the upside people have hoped for from him. Tyson is a projected first-round pick in 2026. Plus, the fit with a Pete Carroll defense makes a ton of sense here. Jones is a physical DB and uses his size and length to his advantage often. He won the “Fast as Hail” award from the team in 2024 due to his blazing speed as well. Disruption is the name of the game in a Carroll defense, and that’s a calling card for Jones.
