On Saturday, he added more fuel to the fire with his latest post. On X, Lane Kiffin retweeted a post talking about how Gators quarterback DJ Lagway was benched during their disappointing 38-7 loss to the Kentucky Wildcats. Lagway has been the starting quarterback of the team since taking over Graham Mertz after his injury last season. Despite high expectations, the sophomore has been struggling in terms of productivity on the field.Against the Wildcats, Lagway completed 11 of 19 passes for just 83 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions. Interim coach Billy Gonzales then benched him in favor of freshman Tramell Jones Jr. in the third quarter. Despite this change, the Gators could not make a comeback. Jones ended the night completing nine of 17 passes for 60 yards.On the other hand, Lane Kiffin has had an impressive season with the Rebels so far.
