The cast of early 2000s reality TV phenomenon Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County is planning a reunion — though not at MTV, the show’s original home.
Lauren Conrad, Kristin Cavallari, Stephen Colletti and other members of the Laguna Beach cast will come together for a special on the Roku Channel in 2026. Series creator Liz Gateley is among the executive producers, as are Conrad, Colletti and Cavallari.
Laguna Beach ran from 2004-06 on MTV, and the Roku special will mark 20 years since the show’s finale (though several castmembers continued to have their lives filmed in spinoffs The Hills and The City). Along with Conrad, Colletti and Cavallari, Lo Bosworth, Talan Torriero, Trey Phillips, Christina Shuller, Dieter Schmitz, Jessica Smith and Alex Hooser are set to take part in the reunion.
“When I first pitched the show to my bosses at MTV, never in a million years did I think we would find such a perfect group of real friends,” said Gateley. “The show not only changed my life and the cast’s lives, but the series meant so much to a generation of fans who’ve been waiting for this. To partner with Roku to reunite the cast and produce this special with Lauren, Stephen, and Kristin as executive producers 20 years later is a dream.”
Added Brian Tannenbaum, head of Roku Originals, “Laguna Beach wasn’t just a television series; it defined a generation of pop culture and paved the way for the reality genre as we know it. Reuniting this cast two decades later is a dream, and we are delighted to give streamers a front-row seat to the nostalgia.”
The special is Gateley’s first commission through her recently launched Damsel Productions. She executive produces with Conrad, Colletti, Cavallari, Lucilla D’Agostino and Barry Poznick of Big Fish Entertainment and showrunner Bill Langworthy. Olivia LaRoche and Louisa Lenander Friedman are overseeing the special for Roku Originals.
