L&T-BEL inducts Dynamatic Technologies for AMCA project

A consortium comprising Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) announced on Tuesday the induction of Dynamatic Technologies Ltd (DTL) as its exclusive partner in the development of the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) — India’s fifth-generation stealth fighter aircraft programme. The alliance leverages DTL’s extensive experience in manufacturing complex aerostructures and sub-systems for leading global aerospace original equipment manufacturers, combined with L&T’s engineering excellence in hi-technology manufacturing and BEL’s cutting-edge electronics and avionics systems. Together, the three firms aim to give India a formidable domestic manufacturing capacity for advanced aerospace platforms. Arun Ramchandani, Senior Vice President & Head, L&T Precision Engineering & Systems, said: “Adding Dynamatic Technologies as an exclusive partner to this consortium brings unmatched agility and precision to our mission. This partnership is as much about building a next-gen fighter jet as it is about redefining the Indian aerospace industrial ecosystem.” Udayant Malhoutra, CEO & Managing Director, Dynamatic Technologies Ltd, remarked: “We have been at the forefront of building supersonic aircraft structures for the past three decades. Our pioneering legacy, combined with advanced engineering expertise of Larsen & Toubro, brings together a unique partnership with the capabilities required to deliver India’s fifth-generation fighter aircraft.” The AMCA programme is India’s flagship for developing an indigenous, fifth-generation, multi-role stealth combat aircraft for both the Indian Air Force and the Indian Navy. By consolidating the strengths of these major players—structures & systems (L&T), electronics & avionics (BEL), and advanced aerostructure manufacturing (DTL)—the consortium signals a strong push for self-reliance in defence-grade aerospace manufacturing. They will be competing with other consortiums and bidders for AMCA project. The partnership comes on the heels of the EoI (Expression of Interest) issued by the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) under the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft ‘programme execution model’. L&T’s stock saw increased attention after the tie-up with BEL. The first prototype of the AMCA is timed around 2028-29 with series production by the early 2030s. Published on November 4, 2025
