The Chicago Cubs took a risk by trading for Kyle Tucker during last offseason. While Tucker had a good year with the Cubs, he's seemingly ready to leave in free agency for a new deal with a new team. The Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees, and Los Angeles Dodgers are seemingly the top suitors in the Tucker sweepstakes, but there could be another dark horse suitor in the race. CBS Sports' Matt Snyder recently made the bold prediction that the Philadelphia Phillies would be the team to win the Tucker sweepstakes in free agency this winter. "I'll go with Tucker to the Phillies. They can move Nick Castellanos to left field to accommodate a player with Tucker's high-level of talent and they need help in the outfield anyway," Snyder wrote. "Grabbing the 28-year-old Tucker is a good way to keep the current window of contention open while also having a bridge to him as a centerpiece in the future. Remember, Bryce Harper is now 33 years old." The Phillies are losing Kyle Schwarber in free agency this offseason. While Schwarber is likely going to be the team's top priority, they could quickly pivot to Tucker to plug a hole in the outfield. Tucker is likely going to have a much longer future at the top of the league going forward, which could make this fit work. Still, it's hard to imagine teams like the Dodgers and Blue Jays being outbid by the Phillies in this sweepstakes.
