Veteran Ghanaian rapper Kwaw Kese says he’s still a force to reckon with in the Ghanaian music industry, even after more than two decades in the game.
The “Abodam” hitmaker reflected on his longevity, saying that despite years of criticism, his impact remains undeniable.
“If after 22 years in the industry I still have a banger that everybody is singing, then these people just hate for no reason,” Kwaw Speaking on Hitz FM with Doreen Avio and Kwame Dadzie as monitred by MyNewsGh.
“I’m the only artist who can face off with this new squad. I tweet something and the whole country goes haywire.”
Known for his unapologetic candor, the rapper admitted that he enjoys controversy, often trolling his critics for fun.
“I’m a tormentor. The more you insult me, the more I feel good. So people should change their insults. ‘Your time pass’ doesn’t work anymore,” he joked.
But Kwaw insists it’s all part of show business, a game of entertainment where every jab, tweet, or shade serves a purpose.
“It’s the industry. It’s a game, and we’re all playing along. If they insult people and call it showbiz, then they should also be ready to take it when someone trolls them.”
Despite the occasional chaos, Kwaw Kese emphasized that his love for music and the stage keeps him grounded.
“Sometimes I mount the stage and see the crowd go crazy. That’s what keeps me going,” he said proudly.
