KSQ & ICC Celebrate Engineers’ Day 2025 with Talent, Tribute, and Tradition

Doha, Qatar: Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ), in collaboration with the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), celebrated Engineers’ Day 2025 on the 164th birth anniversary of the legendary engineer and statesman, Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya. The event took place at Ashoka Hall, ICC Doha.

The celebration was graced by Mr. Sandeep Kumar, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India, as Chief Guest, and Mr. Ahmed Jassim Al Jolo, President of the Global Federation of Engineers, as Guest of Honor.

The evening began with the traditional lamp lighting by dignitaries, followed by a graceful welcome dance by Shrishti Chandhirahasa and a video presentation showcasing the life and contributions of Sir M. Visvesvaraya.

Highlights of the Program

⁠Welcome Address: KSQ President Mr. Ravi Shetty, in his welcome address, paid tribute to Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya with a Sanskrit shloka highlighting knowledge with humility, intellect with action, and dedication to national service. He thanked ICC for their collaboration, acknowledged the efforts of past KSQ teams in upholding the tradition, and appreciated the MC members and volunteers for their committed support.

Technical Sessions: Mr. Palani Gopalan, Engineering Manager with LnT Qatar, delivered the keynote talk on global warming, climate change, and engineering solutions to reduce carbon footprints.

Mr. Kishore V, Electrical Engineer with Technip Energies, presented on “Subsea Umbilical and Cables of Qatar Offshore Facilities.”

Both speakers were honored with mementos, along with Shrishti Chandhirahasa for her dance performance.

Guest Remarks: Mr. Manikantan AP, ICC President, highlighted the vital role engineers play in community development and praised KSQ for consistently organizing Engineers’ Day with technical programs.

Mr. Sandeep Kumar, Chief Guest, commended Sir M. Visvesvaraya’s enduring legacy and lauded ICC and KSQ for a meaningful celebration.

Mr. Ahmed Jassim Al Jolo, Guest of Honor, acknowledged the contributions of Indian engineers to Qatar’s growth and the engineering profession worldwide.

Special Recognitions: KSQ conferred the prestigious “Abhiyantarashree” Award on Mr. Anil Bhasagi for his engineering accomplishments and contributions to Kannada language and culture in Qatar and other parts of the World.

Several KSQ medical professionals who missed in previous event were felicitated, including Dr. Ranjan M Mathias, Dr. Ramya Girish, Dr. Girish Balaraju, Dr. Mohammed Mustafa, Mrs. Mamatha Bharti, and Mrs. Prema Naveena.

Cultural Touch:The flyer for Karnataka Rajyotsava – Silver Jubilee Grand Finale was unveiled by Advisor Mr. V.S. Mannangi.

Talented KSQ engineers – Mr. Anil Bhasagi, Mr. Amith Shetty, Mr. Santhosh Kumar, Mr. Santhosh Mankani, and Mr. Savious Crasta – entertained the audience with music and poetry.

The Engineers’ Day Celebrations turned out to be truly meaningful and memorable, owing to the wholehearted dedication and seamless teamwork of all MC members and volunteers.
