KSI has hit out at the appointment of Andrew Tate as CEO of Misfits Boxing, calling it “the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen in my life.” A spokesperson for Tate described KSI’s remarks as a “predictable tantrum,” in an email shared with Newsweek. Newsweek has contacted a representative for KSI for comment outside of regular working hours. Why It Matters Tate, 38, is a British-American influencer and former kickboxer. He is a self-described misogynist, and is facing six legal investigations, four criminal and two civil. He has been charged with rape, human trafficking and forming an organized crime group to sexually exploit women in Romania. In the U.K., he faces additional charges involving multiple women which include rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking and controlling prostitution for financial gain. He has denied these allegations. KSI, real name Olajide Olayinka Williams “JJ” Olatunji Jr, 32, is an English influencer, professional boxer and musician. He was previously the CEO of Misfits Boxing, which is a London-based sports company. KSI launched Misfits in 2021 and fought five times under the promotion. (Photo by Roberto Ricciuti/Redferns) What To Know On Thursday night, KSI shared a video on X about Tate’s fight, writing “lol.” This tone quickly escalated in a series of subsequent posts. “WHAT THE ACTUAL F*** IS GOING ON?” he wrote in a post viewed over 1 million times. “ANDREW TATE THE CEO OF MISFITS?!? ARE YOU F****** SERIOUS?!?” KSI then wrote on X, “Legit cba,” before writing, “F*** mams,” adding, “Bro has been focused on misfits rather than managing me lol. And you decide to do this s***.” This is seemingly in reference to Mams Taylor, the boxing promoter who is the co-president of Misfits. “This isn’t a hostile takeover, it’s a strategic elevation, driven by people who recognize Andrew’s unparalleled influence,” a spokesperson for Tate told Newsweek over email. In a video announcing the move, Tate said, “Welcome to your new CEO, it wasn’t a hostile takeover but it was certainly planned and Mams [Taylor] and I are going to be working together to finally put Misfits where it belongs on the world stage.” In an interview on Thursday with YouTube personality Fred Beck, Tate said, “KSI tweeted something that annoyed me three years ago, so long story short: I took his company from him.” The exact circumstances surrounding KSI’s departure and whether he will continue to be involved are unclear, though Tate’s rhetoric indicates the musician may no longer be involved.
