YouTuber-turned-boxer, KSI, co-founded Misfits Boxing alongside Mams Taylor back in 2021, quickly becoming the face of the promotion as it helped shape the influencer boxing landscape. Over the next few years, the 32-year-old musician fought five times under the Misfits banner and played a central role in its rise. However, on the 30th of October, controversial internet personality, Andrew Tate, announced via X that he is now the new CEO of Misfits Boxing. Tate claimed that his supposed takeover of the company from KSI stemmed from a tweet the latter posted about him nearly three years ago. Tate addressed the situation during an interview with YouTuber Fred Beck, where he claimed that a tweet KSI made about him three years ago had been the catalyst. According to Tate, the comment had “annoyed” him to the point that he decided to take action. "Well, KSI tweeted something that annoyed me about three years ago. So, long story short, I took his company from him… I never met the guy; I hope he is okay," Tate said. "You p*** off a banker and, before you know it, he owns your street. That’s just how it works." It remains unclear which specific tweet Tate was referring to in the interview. However, after some digging, we may have identified the post the former kickboxing champion had in mind. "Andrew Tate snitched on himself after getting ratio’d by Greta Thunberg," KSI had tweeted on the 30th of December 2022. It is clear that the Tate vs KSI rivalry runs deep. The former CEO of the company had in fact called out Tate after his first fight under the Misfits banner. Meanwhile, Misfits Boxing president, Mams Taylor, appeared to support the shift, suggesting that KSI’s prolonged absence from active competition had slowed the promotion’s momentum. He indicated that the brand needed a figure who would both fight and promote consistently, implying that a new leader was necessary to drive Misfits forward. KSI's Response to Andrew Tate Taking Over at Misfits Boxing KSI later responded on X, taking direct shots at both the 38-year-old influencer and Mams Taylor as he dismissed the claims surrounding the supposed takeover. "WHAT THE ACTUAL F*** IS GOING ON?" KSI wrote. "ANDREW TATE THE CEO OF MISFITS?!? ARE YOU F****** SERIOUS?!?" He further continued: "F*** mams. Bro has been focused on Misfits rather than managing me lol. And you decide to do this s***." Tate also revealed plans to fight Misfits Boxing’s heavyweight champion Chase DeMoor on the 20th of December in Dubai; a bout he claims will be the biggest event the promotion has ever staged. His announcement, coupled with his self-proclaimed dual role as both CEO and active fighter, has sparked widespread debate across the combat sports world. Despite the ongoing drama, both KSI and Taylor remain connected to Misfits Boxing, and the organisation maintains that it will continue expanding as it moves forward in what appears to be a new direction.
