In case you missed it: The New York Times recently reported that the Coast Guard spent $172 million on two luxury private jets for Kristi and other top officials. The official Department of Homeland Security X (formerly Twitter) account called the article "LIES." However, the tweet went on to say: "Senior military officials and cabinet members need secure command and control and rapid long range mobility." In the comments, the NYT Communications X account responded, "This very post confirms our reporting that the jets are, in fact, for use by the secretary and senior leaders at the department." On Monday, Kristi was asked about the jets during a press conference. She said they're "necessary for the mission of the Coast Guard" and that Congress approved them in the Big, Beautiful Bill.
