Kota set to create world record with 215-foot Ravan effigy on Dussehra

A towering 215-foot-tall effigy of Ravana is set to make history at this year’s National Dussehra Fair in Kota, aiming to become the tallest Ravana ever constructed. Built by artisans from Ambala, Haryana, the colossal structure is made using waterproof and fibreglass technology to withstand weather elements and ensure safety.The annual fair begins today at Kota’s Dussehra grounds and will be themed ‘Tricolor’, in honor of the Indian Army and the courage of its soldiers. According to Fair Committee Chairman Vivek Rajvanshi, this patriotic theme will run through the entire lineup of religious and cultural events..preferred-source-banner{ margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom:10px;}The opening ceremony will feature a Maharas program at Shri Ram Rangmanch from 5:30 pm, with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla as chief guest. Other dignitaries expected to attend include Education Minister Madan Dilawar, Energy Minister Hiralal Nagar, and MLAs Shanti Dhariwal and Sandeep Sharma. Worship of Ashapura Mataji will begin at 9 am, followed by the traditional Ramlila performance at 8 pm. RAM BARAAT AND RAVANA DAHANA vibrant ‘Ram Baraat’ – Lord Ram’s wedding procession – is scheduled for September 27, showcasing temple tableaux, musical bands, and a gatka performance by Sikh men.On October 2, the procession of Lord Laxminarayan will travel from Garh Palace to the fairgrounds, culminating in the ‘Ravana Dahan’ – ceremonial burning of effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakaran, and Meghnad.CELEBRITY PERFORMANCESThe fair will also host a series of performances by renowned artists:October 6: Ek Shaam Shaheedon Ke Naam featuring Roop Kumar RathodOctober 13: Performance by Bhojpuri star Akshara SinghOctober 14: Devotional program by Jaya KishoriOctober 15: Live show by singer B.
