Korean actor Don Lee, globally recognised for his roles in Train to Busan and Marvel’s Eternals, is reportedly set to make his Indian cinema debut opposite Prabhas in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s much-anticipated action drama Spirit. According to several Korean media outlets, Don Lee, also known as Ma Dong-seok, will play the main antagonist in the film, which marks another ambitious venture for Animal director Vanga. A popular Korean entertainment platform, Muko, confirmed the casting on X (formerly Twitter). The translated post stated, “This film, titled Spirit, is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and stars Prabhas, famous for Baahubali, in a dark-toned detective crime drama. It is only known that Ma Dong-seok’s role in this film is a character who stands in opposition to the one played by Prabhas.” The outlet further noted that Don Lee’s recent social media updates hinted at the collaboration. “Recently, Ma Dong-seok has been spotted posting on Instagram and other platforms, showing himself boarding a flight to India, and it turns out it was for this film,” the report mentioned. The Korean report described Sandeep Reddy Vanga as “one of the most controversial commercial directors in recent times,” citing his previous hits Animal and Arjun Reddy. While Don Lee’s participation has created major buzz internationally, it remains unconfirmed whether Spirit will also see a Korean theatrical release. The film’s Indian production team has not issued an official statement regarding his casting. Spirit is expected to be a cop-driven action thriller with Prabhas in the lead role. The ensemble cast includes Triptii Dimri, Prakash Raj, and Vivek Oberoi. Earlier this month, on Prabhas’ birthday, Sandeep Reddy Vanga unveiled a “sound story” teaser that offered a brief glimpse into the film’s world through the actor’s voice. Produced on a massive scale, Spirit is slated for a global theatrical release in 2026.
