Konkan Railway detects 42,645 unauthorised travellers in October, 2025

Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd. (KRCL) detected 42,645 unauthorized travellers during October, 2025 and collected ₹2.4 crore from them as railway fare and penalty. The unauthorised travellers were found during 920 special checking drives. It detected 1,82,781 cases of unauthorised travel from April to September, 2025 resulting in a recovery of ₹12.81 crore. KRCL conducted 5,493 special ticket checking drives during the same period, it said in a release on Monday. Konkan Railway has intensified ticket checking drives across its network to curb ticketless travel and to ensure a safe, orderly and comfortable experience for authorised passengers, the release said. It appealed to all passengers to purchase valid tickets before commencing journey. Travelling without a proper ticket is a punishable offence and ticket checking drives will continue with enhanced focus across the entire route, the release added.
