Filmmaker Kiran Rao’s Diwali getaway was all about spending quality time with friends and family. The Laapataa Ladies director ditched B-Town’s glamorous Diwali parties to spend a tranquil weekend in Goa. Kiran was accompanied by son Azad and a few close friends as she shared glimpses from the trip on social media. The first picture featured a serene seascape and a vast cloudy sky. Kiran was seen wearing a swimsuit and posing at a distance. The filmmaker also shared an adorable selfie with son Azad, who she shares with ex-husband Aamir Khan. Other pictures in the thread showed beautiful sunsets, birds, large sea waves and candid pictures of Azad and his friends enjoying the trip. However, the couple parted ways in 2021 and continue to co-parent him. Previously, during her appearance in Kareena Kapoor’s talk show, What Women Want, Kiran Rao spoke about co-parenting Azad with Aamir and shared, “Now, it’s much smoother, and Aamir is more involved in it. Luckily, right now, we are upstairs and downstairs, but whenever we move, we won’t be far away.” She further added, “Azad is enjoying his time with his dad a lot more as he’s now older. It has reached a place where it is really nice. I feel like I can relax and leave Azad with Aamir. Only Aamir knows nothing about school. I think it’s a majority-of-dads problem—they’re always like, ‘Don’t get us involved in school-related activities; we’ll take care of other things.’” Kiran Rao on the Work Front Kiran Rao last produced the Aamir Khan-starrer Sitaare Zameen Par, a spiritual successor to Aamir’s 2007 film Taare Zameen Par. Up next, Kiran is all set to produce Lahore 1947, under Aamir Khan Productions. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the film stars Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi and Ali Fazal in leading roles.
