Kim Kardashian has revealed she was left terrified after being diagnosed with a small brain aneurysm. Doctors discovered the aneurysm during a MRI, with Kim saying doctors had attributed it to the stress of her divorce. The 45-year-old reality star shared the news on the season seven premiere of The Kardashians while speaking with sister Kourtney Kardashian. “They found a little aneurysm,” tearfully told older sister Kourtney who was visibly shocked. The episode showed Kim at a medical facility and being rolled into an MRI machine as images of her brain appeared on a monitor. In a later scene, the mother-of-four became tearful on the phone, as she asked: “Why the f**k is this happening?” The mother-of-four says doctors claimed the condition was caused by 'stress'. Kim emotionally reflected on the stress of her marriage breakdown and divorce from rapper Kanye West admitting it had impacted her health. An aneurysm is a ballooning of a blood vessel in the brain. If it ruptures, it can lead to severe internal bleeding and be life-threatening. Small aneurysms that have not ruptured are usually monitored with regular check-ups rather than immediate surgery. Brain aneurysms cause nearly 500,000 deaths worldwide each year, with about half of the victims being under 50. In the United States, an estimated 30,000 people suffer a ruptured brain aneurysm annually. The death rate for a ruptured aneurysm is high, with approximately 50% of people dying within a few days. However, many small, low-risk aneurysms are stable and are managed with regular monitoring through imaging to watch for growth. They may never need treatment. During the episode, Kim discussed the psychological toll of her marriage to West, describing feelings similar to “Stockholm Syndrome,” - a condition where victims form attachments to their abuser. Speaking to her family during the episode on the toll the marriage had taken on her, she admitted: “I’m happy it’s over.” However she added that she would also stay in Kanye's life due to their children, saying: “People think that I have the luxury of walking away. My ex will be in my life no matter what. We have four kids together." The couple were married from 2014 until 2022 and share four children together - North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6.
