Kilbryde Burns Club will commence their latest session next month. Members will return on Monday, October 6, at 2pm in the pavilion of the Village Bowling Club at 10 Maxwell Drive. Cairdie’s Brig, a folk group featuring a mix traditional Scottish songs and some by Burns, will provide the entertainment at this first meeting of the new session. The club meets in the afternoon of the first Monday of each month from October through to April. And the objectives of the club are the study, discussion and promotion of the life, poetry, songs and letters of Scotland’s national bard and allied topics. The club also celebrates the bard’s birthday each year, with the traditional Burns’ Supper. The 2025/26 session, which will be led by club president Jim Leslie in the second year of his tenure, will deliver an interesting and varied syllabus. He is keen to extend a welcome to members of other local clubs and organisations, who may find the life and times of Burns to be of especial interest to them. Visitors are also most welcome. All interested in coming along to any of the meetings, or to receive a copy of the latest syllabus, should contact Jim or Patricia Leslie, on 07484 838 743.
