Kieran Tierney was heralded as a fantastic signing when he put pen to paper on a return to the club on a pre-contract agreement back in January, and rightly so as our homegrown hero is simply a class act who could quite have easily opted to stay in the glitzy surroundings of the the EPL, or move to one of the more ‘attractive’ leagues in Europe.
Admittedly KT has had his fitness issues, and naturally took time to settle back in, but after completing his first ninety minutes since his return at Firhill on Sunday, he followed that up with a strong and solid showing in Belgrade in our Europa league opener on Wednesday night.
The Scotland international was simply superb against the Serbian outfit and showed the class that we’ve been crying out for at the left side of defence for these past few years.
That’s not a dig at Greg Taylor, far from it as Greg was a terrific player for us and gave nothing less than one hundred percent in a Celtic shirt, but KT is simply a better player and it showed in our performance in a hostile environment against a decent side.
