Kiaan Contractor added another feather to India’s cap at the Pickleball World Cup in Florida on Saturday night, winning a bronze medal in the Under-16 Boys’ Singles category. His impressive performance capped off a successful outing for Team India, which is participating for the first time under the patronage of the Indian Pickleball Association at the second edition of the global tournament. With Kiaan’s podium finish, India’s overall medal tally climbed to 16, including five bronze medals — a reflection of the nation’s growing dominance and depth in the sport. Kiaan’s bronze also marked India’s fourth medal of the night in what turned out to be a historic evening for the contingent. Earlier, IPA president Suryaveer Singh Bhullar and veteran star Nitten Kirrtane clinched gold in the 50+ Men’s Doubles (4.5) category. Youngster Veer Shah bagged a silver medal in the U14 Boys’ Singles event, while Anushka Chhabria secured a bronze in the U14 Girls’ Singles category, underscoring India’s all-round excellence across age groups.
