Kevin Stefanski drops cold response on Shedeur Sanders question as calls mount to start Deion Sanders' son over Dillon Gabriel

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski had a cold response about not starting Shedeur Sanders over Dillon Gabriel. He snapped over the constant criticism about benching Coach Prime's son despite their disappointing run under the ex-Oregon quarterback."Why wouldn't you just to see if it does anything to the offense, give him the opportunity to go in there and play?" Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot asked Stefanski on Monday."Obviously, my focus is where we are right now May Kay, that's not my focus," Stefanski replied. "Yeah, he obviously came in Saturday with his back injury. We were hopeful that he'd be able to move around well enough to suit up on Saturday, or excuse me, on Sunday. But, put him through a pre-game warm up and obviously just didn't feel like he was ready to play."But he's getting better every day and I'm hopeful that he'll continue to improve." After a disappointing 1-3 start under veteran Joe Flacco, Kevin Stefanski decided to name the ex-Oregon star as the QB1 of the team.Coach Prime's son, on the other hand, continues to wait to make his official debut for the team. He was initially the fourth-string option for Kevin Stefanski's team. But after the team traded Flacco and Kenny Pickett, Shedeur Sanders was named as the backup to Gabriel. On Sunday, the Browns suffered a 32-13 loss at the hands of the New England Patriots. Gabriel completed 21 of 35 passes for 156 yards and two touchdowns for his team.Aaron Goldhammer shares his thoughts on the Browns not taking a chance with Shedeur SandersOn Tuesday's episode of "ESPN Cleveland", analyst Aaron Goldhammer shared his perspective on the Browns continuing to rely on Dillon Gabriel rather than trying their luck with Shedeur Sanders."There is something going on here that is weird, stange and dysfunctional," Goldhammer said. "Because the answers to the questions and the logic, from the moment they drafted him (Shedeur) to right now, they are these incongruencies and inconsistencies. Why did they take him in the fifth round? Why was he still there in the fifth round?"There's more than meets the eye. It's Browns dysfunction at its finest."The Browns (2-6) have a Bye Week coming up after which they face the New York Jets on Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. ET.
