An Indian man’s passion and enthusiasm for his automobile assets, even at the age of 85, grabbed eyeballs on the internet. Defying age and stereotypes, Narayanan Pillai, a former advocate from Mavelikkara, Kerala, added another high-end car to his collection of luxury automobiles. The elderly man purchased the brand-new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe last week and extended his auto assets to a stunning 60 cars.
Pillai showed his great love affair with BMWs and purchased the German brand’s sleek-looking Gran Coupe after visiting a BMW dealership. A video on social media confirmed the purchase, where the old man looks elated to unveil his Gran Coupe and poses for pictures as the staff hands over the keys to him. The 85-year-old even takes the car out for a ride.

Kerala Man’s Brand-New BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe
Officially launched in India on July 17, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is a four-door compact luxury sedan that attracts automobile enthusiasts due to its sporty design and advanced set of features. The Gran Coupe has a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, a 10.7-inch centre console and an upgraded version of BMW iDrive QuickSelect, which is based on BMW OS 9.
The vehicle also sports a panoramic sunroof, heads-up display, Digital Key Plus, wireless charging with active cooling and a 360-degree camera. It also has a 205-watt 12-speaker Harman Kardon hi-fi audio system. Additionally, Gran Coupe owners get a voice-enabled BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, multifunction buttons on the steering wheel and a heads-up display.
As for engine and performance, Gran Coupe has a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder petrol motor paired with a seven-speed Steptronic DCT system, which gives riders 158bhp and 230Nm torque and 0-100 km/hr acceleration in just 8.6 seconds. The facelift launched in India has an ex-showroom price of Rs 46 lakhs in M Sport and M Sport Pro variants.
