For her 30th birthday, Kendall Jenner didn’t choose a yacht in Saint-Tropez or a high-glam LA soirée. Instead, with close friends and family, she quietly slipped away to Mustique, a private island in St. Vincent and the Grenadines known for its velvet privacy, unmarked beaches, guestlist of royals, rock legends, and who's who of the world. Her base for the celebration was Palm Beach, Tommy Hilfiger’s oceanfront villa, where stays reportedly cost up to $125,000 per week. With its palm-tree-fringed lawns and pale, open-air terraces, the villa overlooks L’Ansecoy Bay, where the Caribbean Sea is a shade of blue that looks more like glass than water. Kendall was joined by Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Kris Jenner, and friends including Hailey Bieber and Justin Bieber. The group gathered for a long-table dinner under a beach cabana, set with linen runners and soft string lights. The drinks flowed with Kendall’s signature 818 Tequila, and a disco ball hung over a sand dance floor. The birthday girl herself looked gorgeous, wearing a silk wrap dress with open midriff, stacked wooden bangles, and large handcrafted earrings. She also shared more photos from her stay at Mustique, with book readings, beach mornings and overwater villa shoots marking her days. Why Mustique Is The Ultimate Private Island Mustique is small—just 1,400 acres—but its mythology is enormous. Since Princess Margaret was gifted a parcel of land here in 1959, it has become the place for unobserved joy. Famous visitors include Kate Moss, Mick Jagger, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. There is only one hotel and about a 100 private villas. Plus, there are no resort-front crowds or paps! The hotel, called Cotton House remains the beating heart of the island. For food, travellers can choose to go to the Beach Café and the atmospheric ‘Great Room’ Bar. There is also the historic Veranda Restaurant that focusses on Vincentian ingredients and flavours, as well as the legendary over-water Basils Bar which is just a 5 minute ‘mule’ ride from the hotel. Most guests arrive via the island’s own airline, Air Adelphi, on 18-seater Twin Otter flights gliding low over turquoise reefs. The island has had many famous residents, and continues to be the IT destination for celebrities looking to let down their hair, where no one is watching.
