Hamilton Accies skipper Scott Robinson says they must get back on the winning trail fast if they have any ambitions of winning the League One title this season. The Broadwood side are four games without a win after being pegged back at Peterhead in Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Balmoor, leaving them sixth in the table. And Accies now head to Kelty Hearts today looking to kick-start their season and close the gap on leaders Stenhousemuir at the summit. Inverness Caley Thistle, Queen of the South, East Fife and Alloa have all edged ahead and Robinson says Accies can’t keep dropping points. The 33-year-old midfielder said: “We were really frustrated on Saturday but when you look back on it, the conditions were really tough. It was the same for both teams but sometimes when it is that windy, you just take the point and get out of there. “They are the kinds of games you feel you need to win if you want to win the league, but the weather will only get worse up there as the months go on. “Teams are going to have to go up there in December and January when it is even worse, so it might be a good point for us. “But these are the types of games we need to be winning. “We can’t be dropping too many points at this stage of the season. “We are only three points off the top of the table. If we go and win on Saturday when Inverness and Queen of the South play each other, then that can be a wee chance for us to close the gap to them. “But we need to start winning games and get that momentum going again.” Kelty are on a worse run than Accies with just one win and three points from five games so far. Asked what he expects from their hosts on Saturday, Robinson said: “It looks like Kelty like to play out from the back. If they are going to do that, we’ll be looking to press high and get a bit of joy from there. “Anything I’ve seen of them, they like to play through the lines so we’ll see what happens. “We need to come up with a plan to counter their game.” The games are coming thick and fast for Accies with their next match in the group stage of the KDM Evolution Trophy coming up on Wednesday. Accies, who are 16th in the 30-team table after three games, play host to St Mirren B at Broadwood, kick-off 7.45pm.
