Key Points Kelly Clarkson resumed her Las Vegas residency after her ex-husband Blackstock’s death. She helped a fan couple get engaged onstage, saying, “Say, ‘yes,’ bitch.” Clarkson also celebrated another couple’s anniversary and officiated a mock ceremony. Kelly Clarkson returned for her first Las Vegas residency concert since she took a break following her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock’s death, and she made the show memorable by helping fans get engaged. Clarkson, 43, brought back her Studio Sessions residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Friday, November 7. During the show, she helped one couple get engaged. Footage circulated online that captured Clarkson’s ecstatic reaction when one fan in the front row proposed to his boyfriend. “Say, ‘yes,’ bitch,” the “Since U Been Gone” singer playfully said. The couple officially got engaged, and they celebrated by sharing a kiss in front of everyone in the venue. “That is so sweet,” Clarkson said as the newly-engaged couple looked on. The couple, who were visiting from London, then told Clarkson that she would be getting a wedding invite. Clarkson responded by telling them to “ignore [her next] song” and bask in their engagement bliss. “Just stay in this moment, hang out there, you know what I’m saying? Maybe go to the bathroom,” she said. “I don’t wanna poo on your parade.” The pair weren’t the only couple celebrating, as Clarkson also helped another couple celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary later in the show. “You made it a decade? F–k yeah, look at that,” Clarkson said, according to a TikTok video. The “Breakaway” singer also agreed to serve as the officiant for an unofficial commitment ceremony. “If Blake Shelton can do this, any f–king person can do this, they’ll let anyone do it,” Clarkson quipped. “Do you both promise to keep dancing through life together — this is amazing! — offbeat or not, for at least another 10 years?” she asked before making another humorous comment. “F–k that — [how about] 50, 60? Aim high!” The November 7 concert marked Clarkson’s first appearance in Las Vegas since she postponed the residency in August. At the time, she explained that she needed to step away because Blackstock was experiencing health issues. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 “Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas,” she said in an announcement shared on August 6. “While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.” One day later, it was confirmed that Blackstock died at that age of 48 following a private three-year battle with cancer.
