Key Points Aloe Blacc joined Kelly Clarkson for an appearance on her talk show. Clarkson called their song "Love Goes On" her favorite duet, despite recording separately and initial uncertainty about chemistry. The song featured in "The Shack," with Clarkson praising Blacc's music’s emotional impact. Kelly Clarkson has had the honor of performing alongside quite a few performers throughout her career — but one artist stands out above the rest. While hosting The Kelly Clarkson Show on Tuesday (Oct. 28), the singer welcomed one of her favorite duet partners of all time, Aloe Blacc. The duo released their song “Love Goes On” in 2017, which Clarkson couldn’t help but gush about during the taping. “Man, I was so excited you were coming on,” Clarkson said on the show. “One of my favorite duets I’ve ever done in my whole career is the song you asked me to be on, ‘Love Goes On’ for The Shack.” She continued, “It’s one of my favorite songs I’ve ever been able to be a part of. Thank you. We sound so good together!” 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 Clarkson went on to say that while the song is her favorite, she was completely unsure how it would come together because the duo weren’t able to be at the recording studio at the same time. “We didn’t get to record it together and you don’t know, like, ‘Man are we going to sound good together?'” Clarkson said, adding that thankfully, “We sound so good together is all I’m saying.” “Love Goes On” was released as part of The Shack, a faith-based drama which follows a grief-stricken father who receives a mysterious letter urging him to an abandoned shack in the Oregon wilderness. “Aloe Blacc wrote this amazing song called ‘Love Goes On’ and I think the thing that I love about the song is that after reading the book, after seeing the film, to see how that got translated to him via music was pretty powerful,” Clarkson said at the time.
