Kaulig Racing has announced that Chris Rice has been promoted to chief executive officer, after previously serving as president of the Matt Kaulig-owned team.
Rice has decades of experience working in NASCAR, starting out on pit road before he moved into leadership roles.
“Chris Rice is the real deal,” said founder and team owner Kaulig. “From his early days on pit road to President and now CEO of Kaulig Racing, his journey reflects the hard work, dedication, and passion that define this sport.
“Chris was with me from the very beginning, helping build Kaulig Racing from the ground up, and his leadership has been instrumental in shaping the culture and success of our team. I’m proud to call him a partner, a leader, and a friend.”
Rice added: “I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity and for Matt’s trust in me. From day one, our goal has been to create something special here at Kaulig Racing, not just wins on the track, but a culture where people love to come to work every day. With our partnership with RAM and the opportunity to continue grow in 2026, the future has never been brighter for Kaulig Racing.”
Ty Dillon, AJ Allmendinger, and Will Brown compete for the team in the NASCAR Series. Unfortunately for the North Carolina-based squad, none of the drivers are currently competing in the playoffs for a chance at the coveted championship title.
This comes ahead of the NASCAR Cup Series Hollywood Casino 400 Presented by ESPN Bet at Kansas Speedway, which marks the second of three races in the Round of 12.
“Going back to a track for the second time is always helpful,” Dillon explained ahead of the race weekend. “The confidence grows; the notebook grows for how we can get better. We learned a lot earlier this year when we were at Kansas, so hopefully some of those things apply this weekend.
“Our cars have been getting faster and faster on the mile-and-a-half tracks. I really look forward to this weekend and having a good weekend for our DraftKings team.”
Allmendinger added: “It’ll be good for our group to get back to a mile-and-a-half this weekend at Kansas; those have probably been our best racetracks. The spring race was difficult but with what we have learned at Charlotte and a couple of the other racetracks since then, it will help us this weekend.
“Our No. 16 group has been putting together solid weekends and we’re working hard to continue to do that.”
