Concerns are mounting over the welfare of Katie Price’s four sphynx kittens, who were rushed to an emergency veterinary clinic this week after their health deteriorated overnight.

The the former glamour model, 47, revealed on Snapchat that the kittens – born last month to her pet cat Doris – had become ‘limp and unwell’ despite repeated vet visits and round-the-clock bottle feeding.

One kitten died shortly after birth, marking the eighth pet to pass away in her care.

The string of fatalities has led 36,000 people to sign a petition calling for her to be banned from owning pets, with Peta even going so far as to offer £5,000 in exchange for signing a ‘legally binding agreement promising never to acquire another animal’.

Despite this, she’s continued to announce the addition of animals to her home.

Price and her boyfriend, JJ Slater, have been attempting to hand-rear the kittens after Doris contracted an infection and was placed on antibiotics.

The couple said they had been feeding the animals every three hours and even bringing them along while on tour for An Evening With Katie Price & Kerry Katona.

‘JJ had to rush them to the emergency vets,’ Katie told her followers on Tuesday. ‘It’s not looking good. Fingers crossed, they are like our babies. We’re just gutted at the minute.’

She then updated fans on Snapchat that the kittens were kept in overnight at the clinic while Doris’s condition improved. Price later admitted she had received multiple calls from vets throughout the night and was left exhausted by the ordeal.

She said: ‘Good morning, didn’t have a very good sleep last night at all. The vets ringing us three times in the night. I’ll give you an update on the kittens again just not in the right frame of mind. But Doris is alright.’

Doris has since returned home, though there has been no update on the kittens’ condition.

The saga has reignited criticism of Price’s history with animals. She has faced petitions from fans and calls from PETA to stop keeping pets after a series of animal deaths under her ownership, including dogs, horses, and now kittens.

Despite the controversy, Price continues to keep several animals at her home, including sphynx cats Jerry and Daisy, as well as a dog named Batman.

As fans await further updates, questions remain over whether the kittens will pull through – and whether Price will face fresh scrutiny over her ability to care for animals.
