Katie Price rushed to hospital as she shares worrying health update

Katie Price was rushed to hospital over the weekend due to her alarming weight loss.

In a health update posted on Snapchat, the former glamour model revealed she needed stitches removed after accidentally stabbing herself and underwent medical tests to determine the cause of her dramatic weight loss.

Katie’s changing appearance has caught the attention of fans, with the former glamour model previously weighing herself publicly to demonstrate there was nothing amiss. The mother-of-five has now confessed she “doesn’t know why” she is shedding pounds and has undergone examinations to hopefully illuminate the matter.

Speaking on her Snapchat story, Katie posted a video explaining the situation, captioning it: “Gone to the doctors about my weight.

“I’ve been up early at the doctors so she could do some bloods and because my veins are so s*** they had three attempts,” she began. “They could only fill two tubes up, so I’ve got to go back in two weeks.”, reports the Mirror.

“And I’ve got to have my stitches out then because they looked at my little stab wound that I did. The reason I’m going to the doctors is because I keep losing weight and I don’t know why. So that’s that.”

On Saturday the former glamour model disclosed to followers that she had been taken to A&E. “Not what I had on my Bingo card fro Friday night,” she posted on another Snapchat update, alongside a photograph of an illuminated A&E sign.

She has yet to disclose any further details. The Mirror contacted her representatives for a statement, who assured that Katie was “absolutely fine” and was in hospital for a routine check-up and to have her stitches removed, nothing more.

Previously, Katie had addressed her fans about her weight loss, which she desired, after concerns were raised about her rapid slimming. In May, she stated: “Yes I’ve lost weight. Yes that’s what I’ve wanted to do, I’ve wanted to lose weight.

“Because… three, four years ago when I broke my feet I was in a wheelchair for ten months because they said I’d never walk again, and obviously you put weight on being in a wheelchair. And then I did all the IVF stuff, that also puts on weight. So yeah, I did put on weight and I hated it, I felt uncomfortable and it wasn’t me.”

Last year, she also opened up about her struggle with her weight and dissatisfaction with her body during an episode of the Louis Theroux podcast. “I always said I haven’t got body dysmorphia,” she admitted.

“But there’s definitely something, I don’t know what it is. I’ve never looked in the mirror and thought I’m pretty.”

Friends and family have also voiced worries about Katie following the star’s habit of arriving late – or failing to show up entirely – to numerous engagements. A source revealed: “Katie has been turning up late to events – or not turning up at all – and those close to her are worried that she might be getting out of control. They’ve witnessed it before. She’s trying to do it all, but she’s burning herself out. It doesn’t seem to be sinking in.”

Supporters were livid when Katie arrived behind schedule and could only manage 35 minutes performing on stage during a recent show of her tour with Kerry Katona. Milton Keynes Pride also criticised her after she pulled out of her planned appearance.

The source continued: “Katie doesn’t seem to care that she’s not just letting down the venues and the organisers, she’s also letting down her fans who have paid money to come to see her – it’s simply not fair on them.

“She doesn’t realise that being this unreliable has consequences, and while punctuality has never been her strong point, it’s not a good look. Everyone around her thinks that she needs to focus on herself and get to a good place rather than to continue being on stage and working.”

However, whilst mates and relatives appear worried, her close friend Kerry Katona has insisted that Katie’s unpredictable conduct has perfectly logical reasons.

Speaking about when Katie turned up late to their tour performance, Kerry explained: “Katie had Harvey at home and a nine-hour drive to get to the show, where the traffic was mental, so I completely understood her being late. She has been on stage and working until silly hours each night so I don’t blame her at all, it was out of her control.

“Katie has been really reliable the rest of the tour so people need to give her a break. She did the first half of the show virtually, so it’s not like she wasn’t there at all. Lots of people in the audience actually found it quite funny that she was late, too.”

Yet the insider close to Katie painted a different picture.

“Katie isn’t in a great place – she’s partying one minute and dodging things she’s previously committed to the next,” they claimed.

“People rely on her, so of course it’s frustrating when she doesn’t pull through. But she’s had a tough few months – she needs to slow down and take time out for herself. This kind of erratic lifestyle isn’t good for her.”
